Panama Ladybacks Triumph Over Red Oak Lady Eagles

Panama Varsity Ladybacks bested Red Oak Varsity Lady Eagles 5-3 on Friday.

Panama Varsity Ladybacks opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to three walks. Panama Varsity Ladybacks first got on the board when Kylee Gollihare drew a walk, scoring one run.

Red Oak Varsity Lady Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a home run to left field by Blaykee Ward.

Kaylee Brady stepped in the circle first for Panama Varsity Ladybacks. The starter surrendered seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Maggie Wilson stepped in the circle first for Red Oak Varsity Lady Eagles. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking five.

Jayda Timms, Gollihare, Kamryn Armstrong, and Brady each drove in one run for Panama Varsity Ladybacks. Leah Watts led Panama Varsity Ladybacks with two hits in four at bats. Armstrong paced Panama Varsity Ladybacks with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Kenna Nixon stole two bases. Panama Varsity Ladybacks stole five bases in the game. Panama Varsity Ladybacks turned one double play in the game.

Ward and Wilson each collected two hits for Red Oak Varsity Lady Eagles. Ward went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Red Oak Varsity Lady Eagles turned one double play in the game.
