Poteau Lady Pirates Triumph Over Fort Gibson

Poteau Varsity Lady Pirates were victorious against Fort Gibson 6-2 on Thursday.

Poteau Varsity Lady Pirates got on the board in the top of the first inning after Briley Bowman grounded out, and Brystal Hammons walked, each scoring one run.

Poteau Varsity Lady Pirates scored two runs in the top of the third on an inside the park home run by Gracie Spradley.

Emma Hackler earned the win for Poteau Varsity Lady Pirates. The pitcher allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.

Spradley went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Jerra Sommers stole two bases. Poteau Varsity Lady Pirates stole four bases in the game. Poteau Varsity Lady Pirates turned one double play in the game.

Wafford and Smith each collected one hit for Fort Gibson. Wafford and Smith each drove in one run for Fort Gibson.
