Panama Ladybacks Beat Wister Lady Wildcats

Panama Ladybacks were victorious against Wister Lady Wildcats 7-3 on Thursday.

Panama Varsity Ladybacks got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Kaylee Brady hit into a fielder’s choice, Wister Varsity Lady Wildcats committed an error, Jayda Timms singled, and Kenna Nixon laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run.

A triple by Brady extended the Panama Varsity Ladybacks lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

A hit by a pitch extended the Panama Varsity Ladybacks lead to 7-1 in the bottom of the third inning.

Leah Watts opened the game for Panama Varsity Ladybacks. The pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Punk Underwood stepped in the circle first for Wister Varsity Lady Wildcats. The righty gave up four hits and seven runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one.

Brady drove the middle of the lineup, leading Panama Varsity Ladybacks with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Gracyn Weaver, Timms, Kambrey Thompson, and Brady each collected one hit for Panama Varsity Ladybacks.

Underwood and Mia were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Wister Varsity Lady Wildcats. Mia and Bailyn Robertson each drove in one run for Wister Varsity Lady Wildcats. Wister Varsity Lady Wildcats turned one double play in the game.
