Clayton Bulldogs Fall To Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs After Surrendering Big Third Inning

Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs defeated Clayton Bulldogs 6-0 on Thursday thanks in part to four runs in the third inning.

Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs opened the scoring in the second after an error scored two runs.

Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Bridger Blagg singled, scoring one run, Daniel Leach singled, scoring one run, and Jeremiah Short induced Aaden Ludlow to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored.

Short led things off on the bump for Clayton Bulldogs. The starter gave up five hits and six runs (four earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking three.

Brandon Marris went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Clayton Bulldogs in hits.

Ludlow provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs with two runs batted in. Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs’s Jacob Lawson, the number nine hitter, led Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs with two hits in two at bats. Ludlow and Leach each stole multiple bases for Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs. Whitesboro Varsity Bulldogs ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.
