Allyssa Parker drove in four runs on one hit to lead Pocola Varsity Indians past Roland Varsity Lady Rangers 8-0 on Tuesday. Parker hit a home run to right field in the third inning, scoring three runs, and hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, scoring one.
Pocola Varsity Indians were the first to get on the board in the first when Kaydence Batt hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Four more Pocola Varsity Indians runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 5-0. Batt singled, scoring one run, and Parker homered to right field, scoring three runs.
Parker earned the win for Pocola Varsity Indians. The hurler allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking none. McKinna Cooper took the loss for Roland Varsity Lady Rangers. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking five. Kyleigh Combs tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Pocola Varsity Indians in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Riley Jerrell and Batt were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Pocola Varsity Indians while hitting back-to-back. Kylee Merritt led Pocola Varsity Indians with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Pocola Varsity Indians didn’t commit a single error in the field. Lety Parga had the most chances in the field with nine.
Adriana Moya and Addyson Clark were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Roland Varsity Lady Rangers while hitting back-to-back.
